Values & Independence

Values

Martin’s campaign is based on these four values – here is how they might apply to you…

Respect

What this means for Our Team

We listen and acknowledge – and refrain from making judgments

What this means for the People of Bennelong

We take time to understand you and we treat you as we would want to be treated

Fairness

What this means for Our Team

In the assessment of facts we exclude personal bias – and look for the best outcome through time

What this means for the People of Bennelong

We demonstrate reasonable behaviour toward everyone – with the understanding that all are not the same

Balance

What this means for Our Team

We apply due consideration of the situation, weighing all views and options  in our decisions

What this means for the People of Bennelong

Our policies are considered and reasoned, based on evidence and impact

Transparency

What this means for Our Team

The way we explain our position will allow our team to know the How, Why, What and Who behind decisions

What this means for the People of Bennelong

We are prepared to make decisions and have them tested by open discussion with the electorate

Independence

Formal Election Pledge

Martin has committed to The Politicians Pledge, as developed by the St James Ethics Centre. Click to view the signed pledge.

Platform and Policies

Martin will announce his position on the major issues when the election is announced. He has provided an outline of the major challenges facing Australia and information to help you understand each of them on the Issues page.

Achievements of Independents

Many people are asking what an Independent member of parliament can actually achieve. Over 20 years ago three independent members of the NSW Parliament successfully reformed the way that government operated in this state. Click to read the Charter of Reform that they presented to the Premier of NSW.
